Wellness Weekend at Destination Kohler
Mom life. They say the days are long but the years are fast. Well, it’s already been about a year since I went on a trip without Mason. I was definitely due for one. I find it easy to take time out of my week for self care…if you follow me on Instagram you know that I enjoy my yoga/workout classes, facials, dinner with the ladies, etc…. but the high of it all is short lived because within the next hour, I’m back to mom life mode. Mama needed more than just a few hours for a break. I needed a getaway.
I was scheduled to go to Kohler, Wisconsin to guest teach at Yoga on the Lake. I knew I would spend at least a day to enjoy the resort, but then I thought this was the perfect time to take a longer trip. In order for me to feel completely fulfilled for a getaway, I was going to need some back up so I asked five of my mom friends to join me for a MOMcation courtesy of Kohler.
It was the highlight of my summer and I’ve recapped my favorite places and activities that you have to try:
SWEAT: Yoga on the Lake and Bold Cycle are 2 studios right next to each other at The Shops at Woodlake. They have several yoga style classes that are heated and not heated. Bold Cycle is Kohler’s indoor cycling studio that’s super chic. Both of the studio’s team members were very friendly, and their boutiques carried the cutest workout and athleisure gear.
DINE: I recommend eating at Craverie Chocolatier Cafe after your workout. Along with their signature Kohler Chocolates, they have a great selection on healthier post-workout dishes. We enjoyed light lunches at the new Spa Cafe (located at the Kohler Spa) and Whistling Traits, a cute rustic farmhouse vibe restaurant. We wanted to indulge for our dinners so we ate at River Wildlife, which had really good comfort food, and Cucina, an Italian restaurant looking over the lake. For drinks we ended up at The Winery Bar and The Horse and Plow.
SPA: Kohler Waters Spa is heaven on earth. I had the best hydrafacial and enjoyed my time chatting it up with my friends in the spa lounge area. Do yourself a favor and book a spa service, then spend hours bouncing from steam room, hot tub, pool, spa snacks, tea, and more.
RESORT: We each stayed at Carriage House at The American Club. I highly recommend booking the Immersion Suites. It’s definitely a luxury but worth it!
I definitely feel restored and can’t wait to go back. Time for myself and with my friends does wonders for the soul. Don’t you agree? Where is your next getaway?
If you haven’t been to Kohler, book asap and let me know if you have any questions on our trip!
